Paper Project

 Description: 

We used tissue paper to create papel picados. We learned about the Day of the Dead and how each color of the papers has its own meaning. To create the papel picados, we learned different folding and cutting techniques. I chose to do different shape patterns for each fold.

Extension Activity:

Students create a journal or scrapbook-style page where they reflect on the meanings behind papel picado colors and design a symbolic art piece using those colors to represent different aspects of themselves or their lives.
